Will Stein and Kentucky Football just topped off a top-notch offseason with a massive, 14-player visit to Lexington this past weekend. The proceedings were mostly celebratory, with 13 of those 14 guys having already committed to the Wildcats. Yet, one name remains outstanding among that group: four-star wide receiver Tyler Fryman.
Fryman, currently committed to play baseball for the Louisville Cardinals (we love a big blue traitor), has long been pursued by Stein and his staff to join the 2027 class as a primary pass-catching weapon. Right now, despite being a technical Cardinal, Fryman currently holds a crystal ball prediction to Kentucky, per 247Sports.
That prediction may soon come to fruition, as Fryman updated his profile picture on X to a photo of him in a Kentucky jersey. Chris Beasmore forecasted the potential flip on the platform after noticing the change:
👀 Could a flip be coming?

Current Louisville baseball commit Tyler Fryman was in Lexington for his official visit with Kentucky football this weekend, and now the 4-star WR has updated his X profile picture to one of him wearing a Kentucky jersey. 😼🏈

Coach Stein appears to again be on the brink of landing a pivotal piece for the 2027-28 class. Fryman, if brought in with No. 2 overall quarterback Jake Nawrot, could help completely revive a Kentucky offense that had long died under Mark Stoops.
Tyler Fryman Can Help Revive Kentucky's Offense
In Stoops' waning years, the Big Blue Nation saw countless passers come and go. Devin Leary, Brock Vandagriff, Zach Calzada, and even hometown favorite Cutter Boley; under a similarly rotation carousel of offensive coordinators and a head coach who simply appeared out of his wheelhouse, the Cats were among the lowest scorers in the SEC beyond their ever-reliable run game.
Between Kenny Minchey this season and Nawrot set for the one after, both under the banner of Stein's revered play-calling, it's safe to say that the excitement is back under center. Fryman would jump in as the highest-rated receiver for Kentucky in his class.
Potentially paired with Kenny Darby, the four-star wide receiver set to debut in the blue and white this fall, you'd have a nasty corps of playmakers for either Nawrot or Minchey on paper.
Fast Tracking a Rebuild
Things won't be immediately smooth under Stein; it takes a while to revive a program that was dead and buried, and even if his 2026-27 team manages to surprise some folks, I don't believe we're yet looking at a completely redeemed product on the field.
But it's consistent recruiting wins, like the sort that Stein has secured all summer, that get you there, and get you there fast.
Fryman, if he does ultimately commit to Kentucky, would come in as one of the more impressive feats of that bunch. After spending an entire weekend with a baker's dozen Wildcats on campus, how he could leave without a little bias is beyond me.
Come home, Tyler!
