If you weren't already aware, Will Stein is building something beyond his first season in Lexington. Kentucky's still relatively new head coach has swung without relent on the recruiting trail, bringing in the nation's No. 2 quarterback, among others, in a 2027-28 class that 247Sports has ranked No. 11 nationally.
It's been hit, after hit, after hit for the blue and white this spring. Between excitement for the team at hand, whose season will kick off in September, and what's to come at Kroger Field, the Big Blue Nation have been almost forced to forget what came before Stein on the gridiron.
Now, according to Hayes Fawcett, Stein just took out an insurance policy for his offense in the form of offensive tackle Ian Walker. Faced with a bevy of SEC offers, Walker landed on the Wildcats in the form of an official commitment, once more pushing Stein's agenda in the uber-competitive conference.
The Will Stein Agenda
"BBN, I'm bleeding blue," said Walker, leaning into the fanbase's passion in spite of the football program's struggles in recent years. Things are clearly different now; if you need proof, take one look at who exactly the Cats beat out for Walker.
Florida, Alabama, and Auburn, all three, offered Walker as well. Kentucky came in hot from the beginning and sold to Walker exactly what's being sold to other top recruits across the nation. Stein has a formula, and new players are buying in on an almost day-to-day basis.

The 6’6 305 OT from Burlington Township, NJ chose the Wildcats over Florida and Ohio State

Walker, a 6-foot-6, 305-pound three-star tackle, should slot in with ease in front of Jake Nawrot - the aforementioned No. 2 signal caller. What's an elite passer without elite pass protection? Locking this commitment down early gives the Wildcats a little extra safety in that regard.
Reviving the Big Blue Wall
Stein is working to return the "Big Blue Wall" to its former glory. Stack a few more additions like this one up, and opposing teams will have a hard time making any defensive headway on the line.
Kudos to Stein and his staff for bringing excitement back to Kroger Field so quickly; Cats fans are, of course, ecstatic to go from Zach Calzada under center to Jake Nawrot, with wins such as this one in tow.
Welcome to the bluegrass, Ian Walker! Coach Stein got another stud.
