Kentucky makes the cut for four-star wide receiver as Will Stein loads up on offense

The Big Blue Nation can sleep soundly in knowing that Will Stein doesn't sleep on the recruiting trail. His insomnia seems have little to no impact on his ability to contend for studs, though, as Kentucky keeps showing up on the final lists of big recruits around the country.

And while Stein has proven the ability to reel in leading names on either side of the ball, it's unquestioned that offense is the former coordinator's speciality. First, Stein secured the No. 2 quarterback in the class of 2027, in Jake Nawrot; now, he's pivoting to a pass-catcher to accompany him.

According to Rivals, Kentucky made the cut for four-star wide receiver Iveon Lewis, who will announce his commitment a little over a week from now, on May 9. The Wildcats join heavy-hitting programs like Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech in contention for Lewis.

Lewis' 247Sports crystal ball, for the time being, is shining blue and white ahead of his decision. Only one expert prediction has been put in, but it favors Kentucky's in the receiver's recruitment.

At 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, Lewis would bring size and speed to a class that is being built around the aforementioned Nawrot. Given Stein's well-known penchant for airing things out - often known as the "he down there somewhere" mentality - any offensive padding goes a long way.

In Lewis, regardless of how Kentucky's receiving corps shakes out this year, the Cats would get a high-upside playmaker that could come in at the same time as Nawrot, and grow alongside him in Stein's offensive system.

Both this year and next year's class should yield strong results at Kroger Field, but 2027 especially seems to be shaping up as a special year. As Kentucky continues to climb the national recruiting rankings (finding themselves in truly elite company), Stein appears closer and closer to fulfilling his promise of returning this program to the national limelight, and beyond.

Of course, nobody really knows how things will go down until a Stein-led team actually takes the field this fall. But the lights are shining green - or rather blue - well ahead of schedule. Kentucky Football looks formidable once more, and Coach Stein is leading the big blue charge back into relevancy.
