The excitement around Will Stein's coup at Kroger Field seems to continue to find ways grow; upon every recruitment win and smoke-chasing quote from Coach Stein, the Big Blue Nation turns up the heat. Kentucky Football has a historic sense of momentum right now.

And that momentum goes beyond the season at hand. Because, while the 2026-27 season has folks in the bluegrass state fired up already, the roster being built for the following year is among the most well-respected in the country at the current moment.

As Stein's class jumps in and out of the national top 10, No. 2 overall quarterback and crown jewel recruit Jake Nawrot is putting on for the blue and white in advance. Nawrot recently competed at the Elite 11 quarterback event alongside a litany of massive names at his position.

Per a post from Rivals on X, Nawrot came out as the top-ranked performer amongst a group of his similarly elite peers. Kentucky's 2027 signal caller has a case as the absolute best in his class. Let that sink in, BBN.

A Case For the Top Spot

Seeing star-studded prospects for juggernaut programs such as Miami, Michigan, and LSU come in under a Kentucky signee will be enough to turn the heads of many in and outside of Lexington. Nawrot committing to Kentucky, and continuing to top charts such as these, is perhaps the best argument for Stein's potential with the Cats yet.

Nawrot, prior to his pledge to Kentucky, was heavily recruited by Oregon, Iowa, and others, boasting a four-star status that made him among the hottest commodities at his position in the 2027 class.

Nawrot's High Potential

He was described by Charles Power on Rivals, who was the one that ranked Nawrot first at Elite 11, as an "Instinctual quarterback prospect with the passing skill and physical traits to make him one of the top passers in the 2027 cycle."

"Has a high-end combination of arm strength and accuracy. Able to push the ball downfield without much strain and generates easy velocity in the camp setting," Power later added.

Of course, a good team in the year after this one will come down to much more than Nawrot capitalizing on his high potential under center. But again, it seems that Stein's work in putting together a truly elite class should give the quarterback all the tools he needs to succeed.

BBN, we've gone from Zach "Money Spread" Calzada to Jake Nawrot in the span of a few months and one hiring cycle. Will Stein has done miracles on the city of Lexington.
