2. Can Gunnar Hoak compete with Terry Wilson?

Many of ‘those in the know’ saw Wilson as the favorite to win the starting position during the 2018 spring practices. Wilson is an elite athlete who played his freshman year at Oregon. He also has starting-quarterback experience at the JUCO level. He has easily taken more game-time snaps than any QB on UK’s roster.

Hoak has a great reputation and a solid skill set. He also has 2 years experience practicing in the UK system and offensive schemes. There have been several positive reports regarding Hoak, but no playing time. Sure, Hoak can compete in the spring and earn the starting spot, even without any game reps, but how likely is it? BBN can now safely expect Terry Wilson to be the next starting QB for the Kentucky Wildcats.
