Kentucky Football: After a morning decommitment, Cats pick up pledge from Ohio defensive tackle
In the same day, Kentucky Football loses a commitment from a four star wide receiver, but gains the pledge of three star defensive lineman.
Kentucky Football recruiting to this point in the 2018 cycle has been a whirlwind of events. Today, four star wide receiver Shocky Jacques-Louis de-committed from the Wildcats. The Florida product announced via twitter this afternoon that he was opening his recruitment.
Louis is rated as an 85 on the 247Sports Composite. He is the 40th best prospect in the state of Florida. Shocky looked to step in at the wide receiver spot early in his career at Kentucky. Louis is building an impressive offer list. The likes of Michigan, Louisville, Georgia, Michigan State and Tennessee are all vying for the 6-foot-1, 170 pound wide receiver. Nonetheless, its a hit to the Kentucky Football recruiting class.
Lose one, Gain one
Even though the loss of Shocky Jacques-Louis stings, Kentucky football gained the pledge of an Ohio product just hours later. Three star defensive tackle, Tyler Bentley gave his pledge to the Cats via Twitter as well.

Bentley commits to the Wildcats despite having offers from Alabama, Louisville, LSU, Florida, Tennessee, and Michigan State. Bentley is rated as the 35th best prospect in the state of Ohio. The Lakota West product stands 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 295 pounds. Bentley is a stalwart on the interior defensive line.
The 2018 Recruiting Class thus far
Bentley makes the fifth pledge from the state of Ohio for Kentucky. The rest of the class is highlighted by four star recruits, Jarren Williams, Marquan McCall, and Darian Kinnard. Williams just finished his stint at the Elite 11 competition and impressed many. His ratings got a bump as he gained his fourth star by many recruiting services. McCall is the top rated player in the state of Michigan. He and Kinnard are two huge commits for the future of the Kentucky offensive line.
The rest of the class includes, TE Brenden Bates (OH), DE Alex Reigelsperger (OH), and the best Kicker in South Carolina in Chance Poore. Also, wide receiver Marvin Anderson and defensive end Davoan Hawkins hold commitments to Kentucky. They both hail from Chaminade Madonna Prep in Hollywood Florida. Finally, the seventh best Center prospect in the nation, Quintin Wilson pledged his allegiance to the Kentucky Football program just a few weeks ago. That makes 10 total pledges so far for Kentucky.
