Game day is Thursday night. Its win or go home. It’s advance to the Elite 8 or head back to Lexington with fans of opposing teams calling the Wildcats overrated, media saying “told you so” and basically Big Blue Nation just wanting to protect the players from the attacks they would get. That will be avoided with the win over the West Virginia Mountaineers, though. They’d be praised for a short period of time..basically until ESPN airs another “How To Beat Kentucky” segment.

If you’re anything like me, you’re willing to bet if another school like Duke was having the season the Wildcats are having, they’d basically cut down the nets for them before the tournament begins. They would praise them as if they were the best thing to ever happen. But this isn’t the medias favorite school, this is Kentucky, and it feels good to have this team to support while other people cheer for them to lose.

I wrote an article when the team was 26-0. I had no idea how the season was going to play out. I had faith we’d be in the situation we’re in now, but no one was to know for sure. Here are a few excerpts we, as fans, still need to remember.

"Enjoy this ride, Big Blue Nation. This could be a once in a lifetime ride. 26-0 is a huge feat for a basketball team who has the biggest target on their back and a pretty solid non conference schedule. Is 40-0 the goal or would you settle for a loss in exchange for a National Championship? That answer would probably be different depending on who you ask. Some fans will think a loss is the end, even with a National Championship, others would take L’s until the NCAA Tournament just to get the National Championship.Kentucky fans are crazy, but with the ride they’re on right now…who wouldn’t be?The most beautiful part of watching this team grow is the brotherhood. The love they have for one another is undeniable. They push one another to be the best they can be, but they do it with support and love as the foundation. Players know they can have an off game because someone is always going to be there to back them up, it’s glorious and a key to their success. There is no telling what this team is going to do over the next few weeks. Sit back. Relax. Enjoy the ride."

Well now we’re 36-0 and can’t afford a loss if we want the National Championship. Either way, sit back and enjoy this moment. We’ve won 36 in a row, let’s see if we can get four more.
