When the announcement first dropped that the 2026 Blue-White football game would kick off at 11:00 AM, the BBN obviously wasn't happy about it. But, fairly, it was done to accommodate the SEC Network's broad schedule to ensure the nation could see the start of the Will Stein era. So, we all begrudgingly accepted it.
But in a move that has once again left Kentucky fans scratching their heads, new reports confirm that the SEC Network will not be broadcasting the game this Saturday at all.
So, if there are no cameras, why are we still getting up at 9:00 AM to make it to Kroger Field instead of sliding it back a few hours? What gives?
A Busy Season For Kentucky Athletics
Well, for one, Kentucky baseball will be having a series against Vanderbilt, and they desperately need to win it. The Bat Cats started the season hot, but sit at just 7-8 in SEC play and have lost 4four straight SEC series since sweeping Alabama to open the conference slate. The first pitch will be at 2:00, so you can make your way across campus and see the Cats take on the Dores.
From that angle, the early start time makes sense. But, all the same, not being able to catch the game from home in any capacity is bound to limit viewership and frustrate fans who couldn't make the trip if they wanted to.
Being at Kroger Field this Saturday will be the only way to see the new-look Cats in action before the fall.

The Only Way to See the New-Look Cats
This blackout effectively turns the spring game into a "you had to be there" moment. If you want to see how Kenny Minchey looks throwing ball in actual play, or if the new Will Stein/Joe Sloan offense is as fast and impactful as advertised, you'll have to hit the road.
The good news? The experience is still accessible, because tickets are free; claim yours here.Capacity will be limited due to ongoing north-end zone construction, so keep that in mind when waiting to get your tickets. Expect roughly 30-40 snaps of live tackling, a two-minute drill, and the "Mamba Drill" (Stein's version of one-on-ones).
If you do make the drive, you'll also get to see how the players interact with each other, have fun with fans, and simply enjoy what should be a nice Saturday morning for football.
Without the SEC Network providing the highlights, the energy at Kroger Field will be the only narrative that leaves Lexington this weekend. If we want the country to know that the Will Stein era is different, the BBN will have to pack the stands without the help of TV trucks and broadcasts.
