Fresh off a huge recruiting week, Will Stein isn't slowing down just yet. He finds himself in the midst of a 4-star battle for OL Caden Moss, and he just landed 2027 CB Miguel Wilson.
Caden Moss is a monster
When there is an elite offensive line prospect, you can turn on the tape and see the difference. That happens when you turn on the tape for 6'5, 320-pound Mississippi native Caden Moss. He jumps off the screen with a quickness a man that size should not possess. He will need to get stronger and learn a little bit more technique, but that is every high school lineman out there.
Moss is ranked as the 5th-best offensive tackle prospect in the nation according to 247sports. Being from Mississippi, Ole Miss is a favorite to land his services. But the Cats are still fighting alongside LSU, Oregon, and Ohio State.
If you ask anyone outside of Lexington, they will point out that one of those 5 don't belong, and they'd be looking squarely at Kentucky football. But with Will Stein, there doesn't seem to be a recruit in the country that wouldn't be interested in playing in Lexington. That would not have been said just a short year ago.
And Stein also just grabbed an under-the-radar CB.
Miguel Wilson is a guy who shows great ball instincts. If he were 6'2, everyone in the country would be knocking on his door. He has the speed and leaping ability to make up for his 5'10 height. He is a little slender at just 170, and will need to put on some weight to hold up during an SEC season. But the tape doesn't lie here either.
You can see how easily he flips his hips, how fluid his movement is and how well he adjusts to the ball in the air. His height probably makes him an ideal nickel where he can cover inside the numbers. But this is a guy that BBN should be very happy with.
He chose Kentucky over Colorado, NC State, and Georgia Tech.
Will Stein continues to make moves, but not everything is going smoothly
High school recruiting is an art form. You have to know when to pressure, know when to call, and when to back off. Kentucky is trying to land a couple of quarterback recruits in 2027. They have 5 of the top 25 currently interested in playing in Lexington, which is a pretty awesome ratio.
But one of the favored QB's to land in Lexington just delayed his commitment. 4-star Andre Adams was originally scheduled to commit on April 11th. But he announced on social media that it would no longer be the case.
That could mean a new team is emerging, or that the team he thought he was going to had some news that he may not have liked. Either way, a delay here probably benefits the Cats. They get more time to really work on getting him in Lexington.
And that seems to be a speciality of Will Stein in his short tenure so far.
