Will Stein just hosted an incredibly successful recruiting weekend in Lexington, and the momentum carried over into the week.

For years, Big Blue Nation has desperately wanted a coaching staff capable of not just identifying elite national talent, but actually getting them on campus and making them believe the vision. Stein has found a way to get recruits to actually want to be in Lexington.

The Wildcats hosted a massive crop of blue-chip talent during spring practice and continue to host daily. By the time recruits left campus, the message was incredibly clear: the culture in Lexington is changing, and the rest of the country better wake up.

5-Stars and SEC flips are in play

If you want to know if a program is actually building momentum, look at the caliber of players taking them seriously.

During the weekend, 5-star wide receiver Eric McFarland III, a top-25 player nationally, officially dropped his top 11 schools. Surrounded by the traditional blue-blood superpowers, Kentucky successfully made the cut.

But Stein isn't just making lists; he is actively threatening to flip players from the top programs in the country. A highly coveted 4-star athlete and current Alabama commit, Colt Lumpris, was on campus this weekend. He took the time to give thanks to the staff for hosting him. When you have Nick Saban's former program sweating out a spring visit to Lexington, you are recruiting at an entirely different level than you used to.

The "Vibe is Real"

What truly separates this recruiting weekend from past years is the emotional buy-in from the visitors. The recruits are now buying into the message that Will Stein is sending out.

Marques Skinner, the younger brother of current Kentucky tight end Mikkel Skinner, summed it up perfectly: "Kentucky is building something there. After meeting and talking with the staff, I definitely see where they are going. They're on the right track."

That sentiment was echoed across the board by a loaded crop of 4-star talent:

Moving aggressively up the board

The ultimate goal of a spring visit is to improve your standing before the chaotic summer official visit window opens. Stein's staff seems to be accomplishing that with a lot of his top targets.

Three-star safety Charles Woodson Jr. didn't mince words after his visit, stating, "It’s definitely a school I think I want to go to."

Prospects like 3-star running back Kelsey Gerald and 4-star ATH Braden Gordon confirmed that the Wildcats moved significantly up their respective leaderboards following the trip. Add in a great practice visit from 3-star linebacker Jason Crenshaw Jr., and the Cats are in a great place for a lot of recruits.

But Stein isn't just focused on the immediate future. He is already laying the foundation for the next generation, officially extending scholarship offers to 2028 running back Kipton Neighbors and 2028 safety Kaden Golston.

Will Stein is building an absolute machine in Lexington; the sleeping giant is now awake. If this last week was any indication, the Wildcats are no longer just a stepping stone on the recruiting trail; they are the final destination.
