The NBA's Christmas slate will be painted blue and white with Kentucky alumni this year

Over the last 15 years specifically, Lexington has been home to a vast share of NBA Talent. From electric guards like John Wall and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, including his recent rise as MVP, all the way to Amari Williams' slow-burn success in Boston, Kentucky fans have seen it all. In all, 27 active, inactive, and two-way players are in the NBA at one point made their name at Rupp Arena.

Now, we can this modern legacy come to a head this Christmas Day.

The Big Blue Nation will have a ton of Kentucky talent to watch after opening presents now that the NBA has officially announced this year's Christmas Day Schedule. It's blue and white all the way through. Is anyone really surprised?

The NBA's Christmas Day is Basically a Kentucky Reunion

If you get up and open the presents bright and early, you'll be able settle in for the day's first matchup featuring former Kentucky great Karl-Anthony Towns battling "The Alien" Victor Wembanyama. The NBA Finals rematch sets the tone at Noon ET.

If that's not enough to get your attention, Bam Adebayo will then lead the new-look Miami Heat and Giannis Antetokounmpo against the Boston Celtics at 2:30 PM. Immediately following that, another Eastern Conference team that has undergone a massive overhaul, the Philadelphia 76ers, will take on the Los Angeles Lakers at 5 PM.

LeBron decided to join up with Tyrese Maxey in Philly, leaving the Lakers, who will now be building around Luka Doncic. That one may be the heaviest hitter of the day.

Still, we then shift to the night games which kick off with SGA and the Oklahoma City Thunder taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves at 8:30 PM est. Finally, to close it all off, Jamal Murray will take the Denver Nuggets into battle against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors at 10:30 PM.

In total, 14 former Kentucky basketball players will suit up on Christmas Day in the NBA. A few of those not mentioned include De'Aaron Fox and Keldon Johnson (Spurs), Justin Edwards (76ers), Jarred Vanderbilt (Lakers), and Trey Lyles (Wolves).

Nine of the 10 teams slated to play will field at least one former Wildcat. The lone exception is the Golden State Warriors. Can we pair a former Kentucky player with Steph Curry, please? Either way, Christmas is set up to be a blast for Kentucky fans more than anyone else. It's a celebration of the best tradition in college hoops all day long.
