Transfer portal recruitments move it warp speed and that's exactly what Kentucky has been dealing with over the last week.

After securing a visit date with the top transfer prospect and running back Damien Martinez last week, he announced on Monday that his visit to Lexington would be cancelled.

So, Kentucky moved quickly and secured a visit from Louisville transfer back Peny Boone. According to Rivals analyst Marshall Levenson, Boone was on campus in Lexington on Monday meeting with the staff.

Boone entered the transfer portal on April 15 and immediatley drew interest from numerous power five programs. But, his recruitment has slowed a bit, with Kentucky jumping in the race. Ole Miss and Washington were the two programs that stood out right away but the waters have since become a bit murky.

A return to Louisville is still on the table as well.

But, Kentucky is pushing hard for the 2023 MAC Offensive Player of the Year winner after a fantastic season with Toledo last year. Boone had 1,400 yards on 7.2 yards per carry and 15 touchdowns.

He had eight 100+ yard games last year, including 211 against Western Michigan.

The 6-foot-1 and 240-pound runner committed to Louisville in December.

Kentucky has had success with recent running backs and Boone could be the next name to thrive in the Wildcats system.
