The Missouri Tigers are hosting a Kentucky commit this weekend and will try to get him to flip his commitment. Vince Marrow (and Mark Stoops) secured 4-star runningback Marquise Davis' commitment in May, and Davis hasn't wavered in his decision but hasn't stopped receiving offers. Missouri was one of those more recent offers as he picked up the Tigers' offer in August.

They were able to get him to schedule a visit to Columbus, Missouri, during their rivalry game against Ole Miss, and Davis plans to take it all in. He is currently one of Kentucky's highest-rated recruits and has excelled at the high school level at both sides of the ball, though he projects to be a strong running back at the collegiate level. According to 24/7 sports:

"Davis is ranked as the nation's No. 16 running back and No. 179 overall prospect by 247Sports. As a junior, Davis was named the Gatorade Ohio Player of the Year after running for 2405 yards and 34 touchdowns at Cleveland Heights."

Kentucky fans are quick to point out that Kentucky has often abandoned the running game and hasn't stayed committed to getting yards on the ground. Others have indicated this could be his way of wavering in his commitment because of how the Wildcats have used true freshman running back Jamarion Wilcox, who has only been able to get occasional runs despite his exceptional ability.

It probably is also an indictment of Kentucky's position in the standings and a showcase of how the season has gone in a terrible direction. They are 4-7 overall and 1-7 in the SEC. In spite of all that, they still have the 27th-ranked recruiting class, according to 24/7 Sports. Finally, it's important to note that recruits do not always flip when they visit other schools, but it's not usually a good sign.
