La Familia eyes Elite Eight against Eberlein Drive

La Familia is back in the national spotlight — and one win away from the Elite Eight.

The Kentucky alumni squad gritted out a dramatic 80–76 win in the Round of 32 and now faces its toughest test yet in Eberlein Drive, a well-oiled TBT machine with an elite shooting profile and two blowout wins under their belt. The matchup tips off today at 6 PM ET on FS2.

Here’s what to know before the ball goes up.

The opponent: Eberlein Drive

Eberlein Drive enters the Sweet 16 ranked fourth in TBT’s net efficiency and top 20 in nearly every major offensive metric. Through two games, they’re averaging 83.5 points per contest on 46.2% shooting from the field and 37.7% from three. They’ve knocked down 11.5 triples per game while limiting opponents to just 65.5 points and 27.7% shooting from beyond the arc.

Translation: they’re balanced, efficient, and dangerous.

They hammered Florida Pickup Basketball 86–68 in the Round of 32 behind aggressive perimeter play and a suffocating defense that ranks top six in points allowed per game.

La Familia — led by veterans like Archie Goodwin— will need to stay disciplined defensively and clean up the glass. Eberlein Drive is pulling down 40 rebounds per game with a +6 margin. If La Familia can control pace and match their physicality, this could go down to the wire.

What’s at stake

A trip to the Elite Eight and a step closer to the $1 million winner-take-all prize. La Familia, fueled by Big Blue Nation pride, has a chance to outlast a stacked bracket and add another chapter to Kentucky’s summer hoops legend.

Fans can tune in live on Fox Sports 2 at 6 PM EST for what promises to be one of the most compelling matchups of the TBT’s Sweet 16 round.

Get the popcorn ready — this one could be a classic.
