"Off the field, I don't really do too much, to be honest," Bell said. "My whole life is baseball."

That all-in mentality fueled a freshman year for the ages and has him entering his second season with sky-high expectations. The respected publication Overslot Baseball has already ranked Bell as the No. 4 overall prospect for the 2026 MLB Draft, a testament to the incredible foundation he built in his first year.

"On the field, just a winner, to be honest," he stated about his playing style. "All I care about is winning. Whatever it takes."

When asked about his best tool, Bell’s answer was immediate: "The glove." While his defensive prowess is his calling card, his performance at the plate during his freshman season proved he was far from overmatched in the nation's toughest conference. He reached base safely in an astounding 54 of 56 games—a model of consistency for a first-year player.

His freshman trophy case is already full:

  • Freshman All-America First Team (D1Baseball, NCBWA)
  • SEC All-Freshman Team
  • USA Baseball Collegiate National Team

"The competition obviously is the best in the country," Bell said, reflecting on his transition to the SEC. "I wasn't overmatched or overchallenged at any point."

The stats and awards back up his confidence. In his debut season, he posted a stellar .387 on-base percentage and a .905 OPS. He's a defensive wizard with a potent bat—a rare combination that has MLB franchises dreaming of building their future around him. As he embarks on his sophomore campaign, Bell has a chance to build upon his incredible debut and solidify his status as one of the elite players in all of college baseball.
