Selection Sunday is always one of the best sports days of the year. I know people love the Super Bowl, and I get it. But to me, it doesn't come close to this. The feeling you get when your team pops up on the screen is so good, until the team they are playing pops up. Then it can totally flip.
For Kentucky, they find themselves as a 7-seed taking on the 10-seed Santa Clara. That was revealed first, and now we know how to follow along with the Cats every step of the way. The Cats open their journey Friday in St. Louis on CBS.
That is the good news. The better news is the tip time will be in favor of the Cats.
Kentucky's drive for number 9 at 12:15 PM
March Madness is in a battle for the World Cup for the most important extended sporting event in the US. Later this summer, the World's best teams will descend on the US, Mexico, and Canada to see who will be crowned champions of the world. But that's later. Over the next month, we will crown a National Champion in college basketball.
Kentucky will be playing on Friday, with the tip time currently set for 12:15 PM EST. That is an early tip for the Broncos, who play normally in Pacific time, meaning it will be 9:15 for them. Now, of course, they will adjust and be in town longer, but this time of year, you take any advantage you can get. The Cats will have the advantage there.
And the Broncos have a much longer travel plan to get to St. Louis. While it's just around a 4-hour flight time, it's just a 5-hour drive for the Cats.
Travel plans should be made soon
If you want to go watch them in person, you don't have far to travel. St. Louis is just a little over 5 hours away from Lexington. That makes it a day trip, and the early tip time means you may even be able to drive back if the unthinkable happens and the Cats drop a game they are lightly favored in.
If you'd like to go in person, tickets can be found right here.
If that is not an option for you, don't worry, we got you covered with all your streaming options.
How to watch Kentucky vs Santa Clara
All games of the NCAA Tournament are shown live on CBS, TNT, TBS, and TruTV. Most of the big streamers carry all of those.
You can follow along live with any of these: Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, FuboTV, Sling TV (Orange Plan)
Just make sure local channels are included.
Then you can also see some games without a TV provider through Paramount+ and HBO Max. All games are available on the March Madness Live app, but you must sign in with a TV provider for that option to work.
If you don't have access to any of that, you can always follow along on the radio.
