Just yesterday, we talked about how elite 2028 five-star quarterback Neimann Lawrence included Kentucky in his top 10.
And just 24 hours later? We are doing it all over again.
This time, a 2027 four-star signal-caller has Kentucky firmly on his mind.
Davin Davidson includes Kentucky in his top eight
Cardinal Mooney's Davin Davidson is a highly touted four-star quarterback in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports. Here is exactly what their official scouting report had to say about the Florida standout:
"Hulking quarterback with a high-caliber arm that’s starting to piece it all together. Led school to a Florida 2A championship as a junior, but really turned heads a month later at Elite 11 Miami, where he earned ‘Alpha Dog’ honors for the camp. Throws hard and fast with a higher release point, which is rare for a passer that has been verified at over 6-foot-6. Covers a ton of turf with his drop steps and likes to establish a sturdy base before framing up his targets. Still figuring out how to change speeds and layer the football, but misses tend to be on the safer side as he mitigates risk. Can certainly boost a rushing attack with his power-run style, but should be viewed as more of a pocket distributor that can extend plays with his mobility. Must keep progressing and perfecting his craft, but has the tools to emerge as a field general at the Power Four level."
That is an incredible foundation for Will Stein and Joe Sloan to go to work with.
Height shouldn't be a major factor, but it does make the recruit unique
At 6-foot-6, the dude is extremely tall. That is honestly a little strange for a big-time quarterback prospect. But if you turn on the tape, you instantly see exactly what 247Sports sees.
He is a guy with an absolute rocket for an arm. He reads the field incredibly well for such a young quarterback. Sure, at 6-foot-6, you might worry a little bit about his knees getting rolled up in a messy SEC pocket. But there is absolutely zero concern about his raw ability to play quarterback in this league. You can clearly see that with the rest of his top 8 teams.
Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Notre Dame, Miami, Virginia Tech, and Mississippi State round out his top eight.

Seeing Kentucky consistently in the mix for these elite high school quarterbacks has me incredibly excited. Not just for next season. with Notre Dame transfer Kenny Minchey taking the snaps. But for the entire future of the program.
This staff promised to build up recruiting. And right now? They seem to be doing exactly that.
