Kentucky football flips two key prospects
By Mark Knight
As the college season hits its midway point, we unofficially embark on what is affectionately known as flip season. It is the point in the season at which verbally committed players flip to other schools. Kentucky's Head Football Coach, Mark Stoops, is actively trying to get a few more recruits into the 2025 class. He has added two more this week.
The first flip happened a couple of days ago. Dyllon Williams is a 3-star safety from Demopolis, Alabama, who was originally committed to Missouri.
This is a good pickup for the Wildcats. He had nine offers, and before committing to Missouri, he had visited both Kentucky and Cincinnati.
On the other side of the ball, Kentucky also added a new flip today from Montavin Quisenberry, a 3-star wide receiver from Danville, Kentucky. He was previously committed to Brad Neal at West Virginia (Neal is a University of Kentucky alum).
For schools to recruit well, they always need to do well in their own backyards. They have to secure as many local players as possible, and Quisenberry is one of those elite local kids. While he was only rated a 3-star receiver, he was sought after by many top programs. Quisenberry had 10 offers, including from programs like Michigan, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, and Louisville, but ultimately chose to go to West Virginia before flipping today to Kentucky.
The Kentucky Wildcats currently have the 21st-best class in the 2025 period. That includes 20 committed players with 5 4-stars (according to 24/7 Sports) and the rest 3-stars. They have yet to have anyone flip away from them and have only added these two during the flip season. There are still a few uncommitted players out there that Kentucky is recruiting, but they are getting close to finalizing the class (or at least as much as possible).
