Kentucky football signs speedster Dallas Dickerson

Mark's older brother Bob might be unhappy with his little brother, as the Cats snag 3-star WR Dallas Dickerson over Oklahoma.

But Motivated Mark Stoops is not slowing down, in fact he can't.

The ever-driven Kentucky head coach just added another important piece to his 2025 class, landing a commitment from Dallas Dickerson, a 3-star wide receiver with elite track speed and serious upside.

Dickerson, who checks in at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, is ranked just inside the top 500 nationally by 247Sports, and more importantly, brings a trait that’s been elusive in Lexington lately: blazing speed that actually translates.

We’re not talking potential. We’re talking proof, look at his track times via ga.milesplit.com:

  • 100m: 10.36
  • 200m: 21.40
  • 400m: 52.24

Those are not just good numbers—they're burner-level times, especially for a high school receiver with room to grow physically. It means if he runs the same speed in a 40 yard dash, he is running right at 3.9. It’s the kind of athletic profile that jumps off the tape and into a defensive coordinator’s nightmares. For even further proof, NFL WR DK Metcalf ran the same 100m time:

Kentucky has seen glimpses of this kind of talent before. Barion Brown, for all his promise, showed flashes but never quite delivered the consistent breakout many hoped for before entering the portal. That’s become a familiar refrain—speed comes in, but doesn’t always change the game because of the offensive gameplan.

Dickerson hopes to be different. And he’s putting his trust in Stoops and company to get him there.

“What ultimately led me to choose Kentucky was because of the overall coaching staff and the plan they had for me and how their offense would prepare me for the NFL,” Dickerson told A Sea of Blue.

That’s a statement that should fire up BBN. Stoops, Bush Hamdan, and this current staff are clearly connecting with recruits not just on facilities or NIL, but development, vision, and fit.

Dickerson joins a growing class that continues to fill needs with high-upside athletes. He may not carry a blue-chip ranking—yet—but his tools suggest the ceiling is much higher than his current star rating.

And with Kentucky looking to reshape its receiver room after recent departures, there will be opportunity. Now it’s about development, timing, and turning speed into Saturday touchdowns.

Mark Stoops believes in the kid. And Dallas Dickerson believes right back.
