The first look at Milan Momcilovic in a Kentucky jersey has officially dropped, much to the excitement of the BBN.

The wait is officially over, Big Blue Nation, and it honestly feels weird: Milan Momcilovic has officially joined the rest of the 2026-27 Kentucky team on campus. Summer practice is soon set to begin, with images of the team together already going live on Kentucky Men's Basketball's X account, and the first images of Momcilovic in the blue and white have arrived.

Reposted by BleedBlueCasey, Momcilovic is temporarily rocking the No. 3 (he's set to inherit No. 22 from a gracious Braydon Hawthorne), posing mid-dribble and with his family in the typical locker room photoshoot for any and all new Cats.

After an entire offseason speculating about the five-star forward's potential commitment, seeing that materialize is an infinite well of excitement for Cats fans, many of whom probably weren't confident that the chips would fall this way.

And yet, here we are. Mark Pope successfully landed one of the nation's top transfers, putting Kentucky's roster in a position to compete with just about anyone, assuming their penchant for three-point scoring is operating at its intended rate.

Kentucky Can Compete With Anyone

Now, this isn't a Kentucky team that I expect will enter the season with a top 10 ranking; that's not entirely out of the question, but these Wildcats will more than likely fall within the 15-20 range.

But that's just fine. Pope's first team in Lexington entered the season just inside the top 25 before toppling a top-ranked Duke and skyrocketing in the polls almost immediately thereafter. Not only am i fine with an underdog, Pope-led team, I almost prefer it.

Besides, regardless of where Kentucky is slated by national outlets, securing the best scorer in the nation - a more than arguable status for a dude who shot 48% from distance last season - puts the Cats in a great spot.

It helps that Pope has assembled a playmaking backcourt and experienced, physical depth built for the SEC. This is a better roster, I believe, than a lot of people on the outside are letting on.

A Better Roster Than People Think

That isn't to say that Kentucky doesn't have potential issues - turnover problems and a lack of overwhelming size lead those potential worries. But ahead of seeing this team actually hit the floor in the fall, Momcilovic's addition is the sort that fully brings this vision home.

And now, Kentucky fans have an official look at that vision. Stay on standby for clips and flicks from practice to go live soon, BBN. We're transitioning out of the recruiting period (for the most part) and into the buildup towards Coach Pope's most important season in Lexington yet.
