Kentucky Basketball has more representation than most, if not every other college, in the NBA. Tune into any given professional game and, more often than not, you’ll have someone who used to rock the blue and white strutting the sideline. But it’s easy to forget that few in that representation actually played on the same team during their time in college.

In the case of Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, though, the two alumni got to know one another as Miami Heat teammates in the NBA. But now, per a shocking report from Shams Charania on X, the two got into a physical altercation in Las Vegas.

The interaction comes just weeks after Herro was traded from Miami to the Milwaukee Bucks in a move that sent superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Heat. The trade was essentially this offseason's defining blockbuster, and now, another layer has been thrown into the mix.

Charania reported that Adebayo "struck" Herro in the afternoon scrum. Beyond that initial breaking news, The Athletic provided additional context for NBA and Kentucky fans alike on the scenario, shining a little additional light on the setting and origin.

Further Details on the Adebayo/Herro Incident

The incident reportedly took place at a gym in the Resorts World Casino, and happened in front of Herro’s AAU team. The Athletic noted that, according to "multiple sources who witnessed the incident and were granted anonymity," Adebayo first walked onto the floor and said something to Herro.

Then, "Adebayo proceed to walk over to Herro and, without hesitation, punch him. Herro’s AAU coach confronted Adebayo, and Herro yelled at his former teammate while being escorted out by security personnel."

Both players would leave the scene on their own; Herro specifically seems to have sustained a small mark under his left eye as a result of the whole ordeal. Both the Heat and Bucks organizations are aware of the happenings, but officials on either side declined to comment to The Athletic.

Herro and Adebayo, despite never suiting up in Lexington together, shared the floor for seven seasons as running mates in Miami. This sort of occasion isn't necessarily uncommon on the hardwood in the NBA, but for it to take place off the floor, and with no prior context, certainly raised the eyebrows of fans and NBA onlookers online.
