Kentucky Football vs Tennessee today: injury report, schedule, live Stream, TV channel and betting preview for Week 10 game
By Eric Thorne
Kentucky football is trying to get their season back on track today against Tennessee as they enter November on a two-game losing skid Here are the odds, injuries, how to watch, and a prediction for the Wildcats and Vols.
It’s a matchup between bitter rivals that has spanned 116 games dating back to 1893. Blue hates Orange, Orange hates Blue. Each with a passion.
Kentucky hasn’t had a lot of success trying to take down the Vols who lead the series 81-26 with 9 ties. From 1985-2010 Kentucky failed to win one game-breaking that streak in 2011 with a 10-7 win but had to wait until 2017 to eek out another 20-17. Then last season Kentucky dominated UT 34-7 in Knoxville.
The last time Kentucky beat the Vols in consecutive seasons was way back in 1976 and 1977.
The Wildcats (6-2, 4-2) opened the season winning their first six games before falling to top-ranked Georgia in a game they actually played well in. They entered their bye week hoping to rejuvenate for the back half of the season only to see them play their worst game of the season falling 31-17 to Mississippi State last Saturday.
Kentucky football needs a clean game to get the season back on track
Big Blue Nation can only hope the Vols have the same result. They lost to Ole Miss and then Alabama where they were within a touchdown into the fourth quarter only to end up falling 52-24.
Both teams have now hit the reset button but which team will fast forward with a win and which will rewind their season further with a loss.
If Kentucky can’t correct its turnovers then it will be a long day for UK. They are the worst team in the nation in turnover ratio with just four takeaways but have given it away 12 times.
Will Chris Rodgriguez return to his old self pounding through the Vols defense? He really needs at least 100 yards rushing and a good 20 carries to get refocused.
Can Will Levis go without throwing an interception and instead find Wan’Dale Robinson and Josh Ali with on-the-mark passes that let them strut their stuff?
Both of these are vital for the Cats to be successful.
Kentucky football vs Tennessee Injury report
The injury report is fuzzy this week for Kentucky as Stoops isn’t divulging much about Marquan McCall and JuTahn McClaine. Stoops would only say “We’ll see” when asked about them playing today.
For Tennessee, the Vols are the healthiest they have been most of the season.
Kentucky football vs Tennessee Odds and Betting Pick Week 10
WynnBET’s Week 10 odds have Kentucky and Tennessee as a pick-em game. The matchup also has an over/under of 57 points. The Moneyline has Kentucky and Tennessee at minus -110.
Just the straight up facts:
- So far this season Kentucky is 6-1 against the spread.
- Tennessee is 3-5 against the spread.
- UK has been at least a 1 point underdog three times this season and covered twice before last week
- The Volunteers have been favored by 1 point or more three times this season and have covered twice.
- Kentucky is 3-1 against the spread and 4-0 overall in games when puts at least 26.5 points on the scoreboard.
- Tennessee is 3-4 against the spread and 4-3 overall when tallying at least 20.8 points.
- Kentucky is 3-0 against the spread and 3-0 overall when thier total offense exceeds 393.8 yards.
- Tennessee is 3-5 against the spread and 4-4 overall when their offense rolls up at least 335.5 yards.
I’ll reluctantly stick with my prediction and say that Kentucky escapes with a win that may be ugly. The lack of success against the Vols is had to keep from thinking about and the Cats played flat out awful 7 days ago.
I have said in the past weeks Tennessee was more the team I was worried about Kentucky dropping its second game to and not State. A loss today and all BBN eyes will turn to basketball.
Final score – Kentucky 27 – Mississippi State 24
