Quadre Mosely

After Corker and Ajian, Kentucky’s well of experienced safeties runs pretty dry. Mosely is experienced, just not with the Kentucky Football program particularly. And he’s experienced both as a defensive back and wide receiver. Quadre spent the past two seasons out in the wild west playing for the Gila Monsters os Eastern Arizona Community College (how does Gila Monster Blue Nation sound?).

During his junior college time, Mosely was phenomenal both as a tackler and ball-hawking safety. Enough so that 247 Sports and their unrivaled court of talent evaluators ranked Quadre as the fifth-best safety in all of junior college. Nicely done, Dre!

Look, I’m not sure if anyone here has watched Last Chance U on Netflix but it’s a show about a junior college football program and its players/staff/teachers/etc. Really interesting series, you should check it out. Through four years of watching Netflix’s chronicle of the miserable inferno that is junior college football, I’ve learned at least one thing about JUCO: you have to be dedicated and driven to make it out of there. Countless kids see their futures–athletically and academically–utterly derailed because of poor decision making.

Mosely survived and, clearly, thrived. I know this kid is battle-tested personally and athletically. He’ll be a hard worker and harder hitter, I’m sure of it. Honestly, he’s probably our most reliable option.
