3. The Cats missed Jarred Vanderbilt

Early in the game, it looked like the Cats were not going to miss Jarred Vanderbilt at all. Coach Cal was vocal about his concern with how the Cats would perform on the defensive glass with Vanderbilt out. BBN knows good and well that Vanderbilt is an absolute beast on the glass, defensive and offensive. Vanderbilt just simply pursues the basketball with 100% effort.

Kentucky has struggled throughout the season to keep their opponents off the offensive glass, such as Kansas, Texas A&M, Tennessee and others. Vanderbilt has made sure that whenever he is on the floor he will pursue each and every rebound he possibly can. Today, the Kentucky basketball team missed that mindset. Georgia was able to grab several offensive rebounds throughout the game, especially in the 2nd half. The Cats will need to do a much better job protecting the glass against Alabama on Saturday.
