1. Balanced, versatile scoring attack

John Calipari has preached to this team the value of passing the ball. Tonight was an indication that the Kentucky basketball players have received the message, loud and clear. Tonight’s recipient of Kentucky’s ball movement was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. On Saturday it was Kevin Knox. The next game it could easily be PJ Washington or Quade Green. This squad is finally finding an offensive identity, and I have good news for you: the Cats have a litany of scorers.

Knox, Gilgeous-Alexander, Washington and Green can all go for 18+ points on any given night. If Kentucky keeps playing unselfishly and continues to look for the “hot hand”, they will be very difficult to defend. This will continue to create open catch-and-shoot opportunities, driving lanes, and dribble penetration.
