5. Jarren Williams at quarterback

I think for Smith, knowing that he’ll have a quarterback who is among the best in the nation will be important. Jarren Williams just finished up at The Opening (alongside Blue Smith) where he received heavy praise from those in attendance. Williams was rated at the No. 5 quarterback at the competition. Among the names on the list are many five-star recruits and the top ranked recruit in the class in Trevor Lawrence. Williams even started over Lawrence on at least one occasion during the competition’s 7-on-7 segment.

Williams and Smith are also good friends. This will help with Kentucky’s efforts to #GetBlueInBlue. Both recruits could help change the face of the Kentucky Football program forever. When other top ranked recruits see that Kentucky isn’t the door mat of the SEC, they will start to flock to Lexington. Pretty soon, if Smith makes his decision to head down south, the stable will be open for plenty of thoroughbreds to call the Bluegrass State their home.
