Kentucky Football: Jarren Williams may be the biggest steal of the Stoops Era
Kentucky Football commit, Jarren Williams is opening the eyes of everyone this week at the opening.
Mark Stoops and company have really been working hard this summer with the recruitment of the class of 2018. The Kentucky Football recruiting class is coming together at a great rate and quarterback Jarren Williams may be the best of them.
The Jarren Williams recruitment has been a whirlwhind of events. First he committed, then decomitted, and then committed again. Williams has been hard at work this summer in the combine events. First, at Nike’s The Opening regionals, he earned an Elite 11 invitation in Los Angeles, California. Then, Williams’ performance landed him inside the top 12 of the best quarterbacks in the entire country. Now, Jarren Williams is dropping dime after dime at The Opening Finals.
The Kentucky Football quarterback commit is really bringing some excitement to the offseason for Kentucky fans. Also, in the past, there has been a great deal of excitement in Stoops and Vince Marrow’s ability to reel in great talent. But, with this group of 2018 recruits, the expectations are at an all-time high. Recruiting services underestimated Williams’ ability. Now, on the national stage, we’re seeing the real Jarren Williams compared to the nation’s top prospects. He doesn’t disappoint.
The Opening
Williams has impressed the most during the 7-on-7 portion of The Opening. He and the nations’ top rated quarterback are on the same team. It seems as though the Kentucky commit has impressed so much that he earned a star over the number one player in the class of 2018 in Trevor Lawrence. Now, whether or not the starts were alternated or otherwise predetermined is unknown. But, the Georgia native has definitely earned his keep this week against the nations top stars.
When speaking about stars, Kentucky snagged a commitment from Williams when he was just rates as a three star prospect by nearly every recruiting service. His performance at The Opening regionals bumped Williams to four star status.

A recruiting ratings bump is inevitable. Could he see a bump in his rating and gain that final fifth star? The Kentucky Football faithful would love to see that happen. One thing is for certain, Mark Stoops and company have done an incredible job at evaluating the talent level of this kid very early on in his career.
