Kentucky Football Recruiting: Joshua Paschal can be a difference maker on the line of scrimmage
Kentucky Football recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow reeled in Joshua Pashal in the 2017 recruiting cycle.
Joshua Paschal, a strong side defensive end from Good Counsel High School in Maryland just may be the difference maker on the defensive side of the ball. As a recruit in Kentucky Football’s 2017 cycle, Paschal may be a part of the best class in the Mark Stoops era. 247Sports had Paschal ranked as the eleventh best defensive end in the entire class. At 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, Paschal makes his way to Lexington with an SEC body.
The Scouting Report
As seen in the highlight film above, anyone can see the athleticism that Paschal brings to the table. Although it is against high school competition, with the size and speed that Paschal is capable of, fans can see why this young man can be a difference maker. The defensive line is a position group that hasn’t been the best over the years. Aside from Bud Dupree and Za’Darius Smith, there hasn’t been a lot of high-profile players that have come through Lexington. With a player like Joshua Pashcal set to make his way to town, Kentucky just may have it’s next first round draft pick on the defensive line.
The Depth Chart
Returning prospects at defensive end include Denzil Ware, TJ Carter, Alvonte Bell as well as Kengera Daniel. Joshua Paschal enters the fold along with a number of other defensive end prospects. The class of 2017 recruits include four other defensive ends. Florida prospects Jordan Wright, Abule Abadi, and Christopher Whittaker will also be making their way to Lexington. Additionally, Ohio native Alex King will also be in the fold during fall camp.
No prospect is as intriguing on the defensive side of the ball rather than Paschal. A talent like Paschal’s make for individual expectations for him to step in as a freshman and make his presence known.

The speed and agility to rush the passer is important for a successful defensive end in the SEC. Paschal certainly has that. He also has the talent and ability to stop the run on the inside. Holding the edge is something that Paschal is able to do as well, making him a prospect that is intensifying the start of Fall camp.
