Kentucky Basketball: 3 realistic expectations for the 2017-2018 Season

3. For a team that’s as young as Kentucky Basketball is going to be, projecting a National Title may be premature.

Understanding that young players usually don’t respond to march madness expectations may come into play with this team. Realizing that expectations for this team may be high right off the bat should be common among Kentucky Basketball fans. This team may be the youngest team in the land. That’s reason to believe that realistically, national championship chances are limited.

Kentucky will be ranked in the top three throughout the season. They will be considered one of the National Title favorites. But, on the other hand there isn’t many teams as young as these Cats will be that have taken home the title. Kentucky fans need to understand that although this team may be talented, experience within the NCAA tournament is crucial for a deep run.

By no means should Fans feel like this team will not win a national title this season. It is expected each and every year. But, a realistic expectation is that this team loaded with talented freshman and a handful of returning sophomore contributors can make their way to the Elite Eight and possibly a birth in the Final Four.
