Kentucky Basketball Fans, meet Miles Wilson, star freshman guard from Mount St. Mary’s. After a promising freshman year for the Mountaineers, Wilson has decided to transfer from the program.

Kentucky Basketball head coach John Calipari is back at it with the transfers, as he’s began conversation with transfer guard Miles Wilson. Granted, Wilson would have to sit out the 2017-2018 season. However, he has shown potential to do great things for Kentucky.

Wilson has picked up an offer from Penn State, and has spoken with NC State, Miami, and Virginia, as well as Kentucky. Kentucky offers Wilson the most upside if his end game is to play in the league, as he will be practicing with the best players in the country on a daily basis. Also, being a freshman, Wilson will be eligible to play three seasons at Kentucky, making him even more desirable. This makes him even more enticing to Coach Cal, especially after the mass exodus of players from last season’s team.

Bio on Miles Wilson

Miles Wilson is 6-foot-5 guard who weighs around 190 pounds. During his freshman season at Mount St. Mary’s, he averaged 11.8 points and 3.9 rebounds, shooting 36.2 percent from three and 50 percent from two. Wilson helped lead the Mountaineers to a NEC regular season and tournament champinoship.

The most recent example of Wilson’s play would be in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, where they faced #1 overall seed Villanova. He scored a game high 22 points along with seven rebounds in a 20-point loss. The loss itself seems bad, but Wilson showed that he was capable of performing on the big stage.

Kentucky has an opportunity to get themselves a player who will be here for the long haul, almost Darius Miller-esque. This is all still in the making, so we will have to wait to see if Kentucky offers Wilson before fans get too invested.
