Kentucky Football’s senior running back Jojo Kemp has been invited to attend rookie camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Deland, Florida native will return home to the sunshine state to begin his journey as a professional football player. Jojo Kemp spent the last four seasons as a key component in this Kentucky football offense.

Jojo Kemp is the fifth Kentucky Football player to sign or be invited as a tryout player for an NFL team. There were no Kentucky players chosen in the 2017 NFL Draft. These Kentucky hopefuls will have to make a name for themselves from the bottom.

Wild-Kemp

Jojo Kemp spent his senior season as the third running back on the depth chart. Despite losing out on carries behind Benny Snell and Boom Williams, Kemp managed to still score six touchdowns for the Wildcats last season.

All Kentucky football fans can remember one of the first memorable signature wins for the Mark Stoops campaign against South Carolina. Jojo Kemp was pretty fun to watch in a Kentucky Football uniform. Now he has high hopes of furthering his football career as an NFL Running Back.

Jojo finished his career at Kentucky with 1709 yards on 338 rushes for 19 touchdowns. He was a fixture in the early stages of the Wildcat formation in which Kentucky offensive coordinators have loved to use.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Kemp will join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and head coach Dirk Koetter. The Bucs are giving Kemp a chance to show his true potential as a running back. Tampa has a roster full of running backs but do not have a clear cut standout superstar. Doug Martin is the only current marquee name on the roster.

The Buccaneers also drafted running back Jeremy McNichols out of Boise State as their pick in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Jojo will have his shot at the NFL this summer. As all Kentucky Football fans are hopeful that he earns a roster spot with the Buccaneers, or any other team for that matter.
