The X-Factor

During his brief tenure at Kentucky, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was the glue that held the Wildcat’s National Title run together. Kidd-Gilchrist, did not blow up the stat sheets. The Pennsylvania native only averaged nearly 12 PPG/7.4 RPG while in the Kentucky Uniform. For anyone who watched Gilchrist play, you know why he is on our list.

While teammates with Anthony Davis, the duo went on to take the college basketball world by storm. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist finished the 2012 season as a Wooden Award Finalist as well as being selected as Second Team Consensus All-American.

Gilchrist went on to become the second overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. (Now known as the Charlotte Hornets). In the same draft, Kentucky Basketball made history as being the first collegiate team to have players drafted No. 1 (Anthony Davis)  and No. 2 Overall in the same draft.

Although his NBA Career has been injury plagued, there is no doubt in his contributions to the Wildcats National Title run.
