With the addition of Mychal Mulder, Big Blue Nation is still distraught and freaking out about the loss of Cheick Diallo to Kansas. It’s time to recap my latest post about the importance of trusting John Calipari.
"Losing seven guys to the NBA in one season is something completely unheard of. I remember how it felt with Davis and Co. declared for the NBA Draft after winning the National Championship. It sucked, but I knew it was for the best. It was scary to watch six players declare for the draft, leaving the Wildcat faithful wondering “what’s going to happen now?” What will John Calipari do next? The 2012-2013 season is not something fans want to relive and I doubt it’s something John Calipari wants to relive himself. The high from the National Championship win was matched with one of the lowest lows less than a year later against Robert Morris.I know there are Kentucky fans right now freaking out, thinking this is going to be a replay of that season and I know there are opposing fans who are rejoicing in the idea that the Wildcats may not win 38 games in a row again next season. I also know that John Calipari is one of the best recruiter and coach in the country and the Wildcats will find a way to reload. It’s bittersweet to go 38-1 and to earn the one loss in the Final Four. It’s even more bittersweet to lose more than half of your team in one day without winning the National Championship. 38 wins in a row was something unheard of and shouldn’t be written off, even though it will. Some fans think it’s irrelevant, but I still think it was one of the most amazing rides I’ve ever been apart of. Calipari had 10 all-stars on his team and found a way to make them selfless, make them love one another and make them their brother’s keeper. I’m not usually one for moral victories, but Big Blue Nation won it all just by having such awesome guys on their team.I trust that John Calipari will have a strong team next season. It may not be an undefeated season or even anything close, but I truly trust he will have a team ready to make a championship run. He learned a lot about himself this past season and what works as a coach. He’ll sign a few more guys and adding them with Tyler Ulis, Alex Poythress and Marcus Lee, I expect big things.More from Wildcat Blue NationKentucky football: 3 players who need to step up in week 4Kentucky basketball: 4-star recruit visits campus, has unique connectionKentucky vs. Vanderbilt Prediction, Odds, Trends and Key Players for College Football Week 3Kentucky football: The good, the bad, and the ugly in win over AkronClaim $100 Sign-Up Bonus PLUS $100 off NFL Sunday Ticket with FanDuel Kentucky Promo!"
