After several misses, Mark Stoops finally found his quarterback for his 2016 class.

There is a lot to like about Hoak.  Scout took a look and it looks as if UK is getting a good one.

"WHAT IS THERE TO LIKE? First off, Hoak has a high football IQ, which when combined with his strong arm and good size, only adds to his value. He does not turn the ball over, and while basically a pro-style passer, Hoak has the ability to move around in the pocket. He is a great leader and loves to compete, and is a perfect fit for the Wildcat offense. He has led Coffman into the playoffs the past few seasons, and they will be a strong team in Ohio once again this season. He had several other top programs looking at him, and could have added more offers should he stayed uncommitted. WHAT ARE HE CONCERNS? Hoak might not be as athletic as some dual threat quarterbacks, and he will need to work on adding more speed and increasing his footspeed. He should be a perfect candidate to redshirt as a true freshman, and take his time learning the Wildcat system. Hoak will also need to add weight and strength in the next year to be able to compete in the SEC. WHAT ARE THE INTANGIBLES? Coming from a strong family is a plus, and that is being looked at more and more in terms of a player’s character. Hoak is also a winner in the classroom and will represent Kentucky in a positive manner. His father, Frank, played for Ohio State, so Gunnar knows how hard he is going to have to work to succeed at the next level. There are many positives to this commit for Kentucky, and least of all is the ability to have a quarterback committed early. Unlike last year, Hoak stated he is willing to help recruit others to join him at Kentucky. With teammates Alex Gellerstedt and Griffin Grady holding Wildcat offers, those two will be top priorities for Hoak."
