Is Mark Stoops close to naming a starting quarterback for his 2015 Kentucky Wildcats? He is stopping just short of that, but it appears that Patrick Towles has a very firm grasp on the job and could wrap it up in Spring camp.
"Where has the former Highlands star made the most improvement? Accuracy, said Stoops. Towles has been more consistent in putting the football where it needs to go in a place where it can be caught. Last season, Towles completed 57.3 percent of his passes, which ranked ninth among the SEC’s top 13 quarterbacks in terms of passing yardage. Is Stoops prepared to name a starter in the competition between Towles and redshirt freshman Drew Barker? Not yet. But with one spring practice remaining, it appears obvious which of the two will come out of spring drills with the No. 1 designation."

The Messiah de Weaver announcement has been moved up and he still lists the Kentucky Wildcats as one of his top five schools. Granted, the heavy favorite is still Michigan State and it will be a real shock if Sparty does not get the nod, but Kentucky still has a chance.
"“I talked to my parents and we moved up the date,” said deWeaver, who’s ranked the top quarterback in Ohio and No. 12 in the nation by 247Sports. “We just felt like we can get it out of the way, so next Wednesday is fine with me.” The list of schools the Wayne High School 2016 class member said he’s still considering is: Michigan State, Mississippi State, Penn State, Kentucky and Louisville. “I get asked about it every day, from a teacher or another student,” said deWeaver, who attends high school in Huber Heights. “They’ll say, ‘What are you going to do?’ Or, ‘where are you going?’ ” There are also the phone calls from the various recruiting services, all looking to secure information on deWeaver’s future they can put behind paywalls."
