Today I want to share a little information with you cats fans on some 2015 recruiting happening right here in Kentucky. As of Right now, there are 4 offers out to Kentucky athletes. One of those, I wrote about last week in Elijah Sindelar but I will put out that information again in case you missed it.

Elijah is a 6’ 4” 200 lb. pro-style quarterback out of Caldwell County. Kentucky is in excellent position with Sindelar and he has let it be known that Kentucky is his favorite. He has said that he wants to make his decision either this spring or summer. It’s unclear right now if Kentucky is willing to take more than one QB but my guess is yes. Not only does the coaching staff want Sindelar, but they also want the highly touted gunslinger from Texas (a former Kentucky resident and fan) Jarrett Stidham, a 6’ 2” 188 lb. dual-threat quarterback who is rated as a 6.0 4-star by rivals.com. Would both players consider coming to Kentucky? Only time will tell but I would expect Elijah to make a decision first and that could scare off Jarrett. Either way, Kentucky stands to gain at least one top flight quarterback that they like. I posted a video of Elijah below.

Staying on the offensive side of the ball, Kentucky has offered running back Damien Harris. Damien is a 5’ 11” 205 lb., 6.1 5-star out of Madison Southern. Unfortunately, Harris is a big time Michigan fan and has already pledged his commitment there. However, if you haven’t noticed yet, this isn’t your old Kentucky coaching staff. THIS staff doesn’t give up or concede to anybody and they will continue to recruit Damien. He has been open to Kentucky and has been on campus multiple times since coach Stoops and staff took over so there may be a chance to flip him. Watch Damien’s video below.

The other two offers go out to defensive players. I’m specifically speaking of linebackers. Emmitt Smith is a 6’ 3” 240 lb. inside linebacker out of Warren Central in Bowling Green. So far, he has offers from Kentucky, Purdue and Western Kentucky. As of right now, I’m not sure if his offer is a committable one or not. There seems to be a question by the coaching staff about if he has the speed or ability to be an SEC caliber linebacker. Good news is, Emmitt has a full year and a half to prove that he is indeed an SEC caliber linebacker. Watch his video below and you be the judge.

The other linebacker is Eli Brown. Eli is 6’ 2” 192 lb. 5.9 4-star out of Warren East who is on the 250 watch list by rivals.com. Brown had been committed to Vanderbilt for quite some time but has since de-committed after taking a visit to Ohio State. Eli has offers from Kentucky, Ohio State, Vanderbilt and Western Kentucky. He is also receiving interest from recruiting coordinator, Joker Phillips out of Florida. Hmmm… that name sounds familiar?? Oh well. Anyway, it is not known when Eli will make a decision and what he thinks about the Kentucky coaching staff but I do believe he is open to Kentucky.

Guys like Eli and Damien Harris; we just can’t let them get out of state. They are important to the resurrection of Kentucky football. Let’s hope that the coaching staff can show them why they need to stay home.
