Kentucky Wildcat Football: The WBN talks with 2014 RB Collin Bailey
By Jason Marcum
What did they say about their plans for you if you come to UK?
"As far as plans the relationship between the coaching staff and myself have been warming up and haven’t talked much about offers, but they have expressed interest in me and they would like me to come up and visit and attend their camp."
Are you focused on playing runningback in college, or are you ok with a coach moving you to another position?
"I’m an athlete and playmaker so I’m willing to play wherever the team needs me but preferably I would like to play RB in college because that’s my primary position"
What current UK recruits and/or players do you have relationships with?
"I am very good friends with Greg Miclisse and we talk about UK a lot."
How important is it for you to have playing time right away?
"Playing time is a big factor because I would love to come in right away and contribute but if I have to watch for my first year I’m also willing to do that until I’m ready to play at the SEC level."
How important is it to you to have a chance to play in the SEC?
"It is very important and would be a blessing to be able to play and compete at the highest level in college football."
What is it that you look for in a university? Which factors do you place the most value on?
"I look for that family feel, great coach staff, great players, distance from home, playing time, and the most important is education because football is going to end one day but a degree will always be there."
With UK having such a poor record in the past few years, what made you consider them, and ultimately want to visit?
"The new coaching staff really seems to be doing a great job and had success with recruiting this class. I see Kentucky on the rise and turning the program around and making it a respected program."
How much do you value academics?
"Academics are everything my parents really push me in the classroom and that’s why I have a 4.0. I am in National Honor Society top ten percent and the Vice President of the student body."
What college or NFL player do you model your game after the most?
"I would model my game best after J.C Coleman the freshman running back from Virginia Tech he is a smaller back and very elusive. I also remind myself of Roy Finch also a small back that plays for Oklahoma those are my role models."
When do you plan on making your college decision?
"I am going to be making my final decision on National Signing day but may make an early verbal commitment."
Thank you for your time Collin. Is there a message you have for all of the fans of the Big Blue Nation?
"Thank you for the love BBN you guys are the best fans in the nation and would love to come to Lexington!"
