With Archie Goodwin likely to be a one-and-done player, along with the graduation of Julius Mays and Twanny Beckham, the Cats will need to find a new shooting guard for the 2013 team. That’s where Aaron Harrison comes in. He’s the top shooting guard in the recruiting class of 2013 and one of the best overall players in the entire class.
He’s a lights-out 3-point shooter and one of the top perimeter defenders in the 2013 class. He has great ball-handling skills and is an excellent driver, which means he will thrive in John Calipari’s dribble drive offense. Aaron plays very aggressive and isn’t afraid of contact while driving to the rim. His driving ability combined with his 3-point shooting ability will make him one of, if not the hardest player to guard of any 2013 recruit. His brother Andrew is also a UK recruit, and both brothers have stated their desire to play for the same school.
Harrison’s list of schools include Kentucky, Maryland, Arizona, Georgetown, and Baylor. Both of the Harrison twins attended Kentucky’s midnight madness last season.
Last summer, Aaron led his AAU team, the Houston Defenders, to a victory over BABC in the 17U Super Showcase in Florida, one of the biggest AAU tournaments in the nation. Harrison led his team in scoring with 18 points in the title game.
