Kentucky Basketball target, Bol Bol, has been named the Nike EYBL MVP of the year.

The EYBL is the Elite Youth Basketball League. The nation’s top prep basketball players play in the league across the country. College basketball coaches keep a close eye on the league as the best players in the country play against teams. Similarly, they play against athletes of the same caliber as well. Kentucky Basketball recruit Bol Bol has just been awarded the MVP of the EYBL season.

Bol Bol averaged 24.1 points per game to go along with 10 rebounds. The big man also averaged 4.5 blocks per game on the defensive end as well. Furthermore, Bol stands 7-foot-1 with ball handling skills that rival some guards in the league. He is able to pull up from deep and score the basketball at will.

Kentucky’s Chances?

Currently, John Calipari is vying for the talent of Bol. Kentucky Basketball’s chances of landing the big man stand pretty good at the moment. The 247Sports crystal ball vote is 75 percent leaning toward the Wildcats. Bol is currently rated as the second best power forward in the class behind top overall player, Marvin Bagley III. Both players are on Kentucky’s list of targets.

John Calipari has a knock for reeling in big time talent. Bol Bol has climbed his way up the rankings this summer and looks to become a force in his senior season at Mater Dei, in California.

Kentucky’s staff will need to do some work if they really want the talent of Bol Bol. Arizona looks to be the dark horse in his recruitment. His teammate, and friend, Shareef O’neal is committed to Arizona at this time. Also, O’neal is the son of NBA Great Shaquille O’neal. Shaq has stated many times that he would like for his son to play at Kentucky. That looks unlikely at the moment. The cards are turning for the west coast wildcats and I look for them to be major players for Bol Bol.
