Every Kentucky Basketball fan knows that the Suns are the team that likes to draft former Wildcats. Phoenix has the fourth pick in the NBA Draft.

Draft Express’ latest mock draft has Bam Adebayo headed to Phoenix. The Suns have the fourth, 32nd and 54th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. The Kentucky Basketball pipeline to the Suns has the possibility to continue. The Phoenix Suns already have four former Kentucky Basketball players on their roster. Devin Booker, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, and Tyler Ulis are all pieces to the Suns puzzle. At least for now.

Although Bam hasn’t worked out for the Suns, it is known that the organization is keen on Calipari-coached players. The Suns also have the fourth pick in the draft. Draft Express has Jayson Tatum headed to Phoenix in their mock draft. It wouldn’t be out of the question to see one of Kentucky’s guards headed there as well. Both De’Aaron Fox and/or Malik Monk would be available for the Suns at the fourth pick.

Overkill?

If Phoenix would by chance take another Kentucky guard, look for Brandon Knight to be on the outs. Knight just hasn’t gotten the experience he needs for the Suns. Brandon Knight holds on to some good trade value. But, if the Suns don’t make a move with one of their guards, Bam Adebayo may be the only chance that the Suns have to keep the ball rolling with drafting Kentucky Basketball players.

The past two NBA Drafts saw the Suns select four Kentucky Basketball players. Not all ended up playing with the Suns, but they drafted them nonetheless. In 2015, Devin Booker and Andrew Harrison heard their name called to Phoenix. Last season’s draft saw Skal Labissiere and Tyler Ulis getting the nod from the Suns front office.

Whether or not the Suns like what they see in Bam, Monk, or Fox, they know what they would get in terms of a well-coached player ready to be a pro. It’s always fun to see an NBA team littered with Kentucky players.
