Remember Darius Miller? What kind of Kentucky Basketball fan doesn’t remember the Mason County star?
Darius Miller was a fan favorite at Kentucky. As Kentucky Basketball fans gear up for each season, they check out the roster looking for Kentucky raised talent. It doesn’t happen too often in today’s age of the game, but for Darius Miller, it did.
Miller was a superstar for the Mason County Royals. In high school, Miller would take his team all the way to the state championship. While bringing home the gold at the Sweet Sixteen, Miller also took home the Mr. Basketball honors.
Then he arrived at the University of Kentucky. Miller went on to play at Kentucky for four seasons averaging 8.2 points per game in his career. Miller’s career in blue and white is highlighted by his SEC Tournament MVP in 2011. Also, Miller was a key part in Kentucky Basketball’s last championship in 2012. Eventually, Darius Miller went on to be selected in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets (Pelicans). After playing sparingly for three seasons, Miller made the jump overseas.
Brose Bamberg
Darius Miller is currently making his name known in the Basketball Bundesliga and EuroLeague with Brose Bamberg. Currently, Miller is a consistent scorer with 12.2 points per game. He is shooting the deep ball at a high level as well. His three point shot percentage peaks over 41 percent.
Miller and Brose Bamberg are in the midst of the German League playoffs. Additionally, you can tell from the team’s Twitter feed, they are having some success.
Miller’s team is in the finals of the BBL (Basketball Bundesliga) which is the top league in Germany. Also, last season, Brose Bamberg swept through the competition en route to a BBL Championship. The Kentucky boy Darius Miller was awarded the finals MVP.
