It seems the rich get richer as Kentucky’s recruiting class was already the No. 1 class in the country. This may go down as possibly the best recruiting class in the history of college basketball. But, the funny thing is, the madness may not even be over. Top recruit Mohamed Bamba and Pittsburg graduate transfer Cameron Johnson are still being recruited by John Calipari.

A Bit of a Surprise?

Kevin Knox committing to Kentucky came as a bit of a surprise. 247Sports’ crystal ball had Knox headed to Cameron North Carolina to play for Duke. At 87 percent of the recruiting experts picking the Blue Devils, you could imagine the joy of the Big Blue Nation at the news.

Knox will step in as possibly the teams’ scoring threat alongside PJ Washington and Jarred Vanderbilt. It’s going to be crazy to think about these guys on the floor together in a few months. To be honest, Kentucky was not very confident in landing the superstar.

The Tampa Catholic alumni is ranked as the tenth overall player in the class of 2017 and the number two ranked small forward behind Missouri’s Michael Porter. Knox is rated one spot above Jarred Vanderbilt who also will be donning the blue and white.

There will almost certainly be a stable full of horses for John Calipari to groom. In light of Always Dreaming winning the Kentucky Derby, Kevin Knox will be the piece that will keep the BBN always dreaming of title number nine.

Needless to say, the commitment of one of the top players in the land will put a smile on the face of some. Others, it will not. But, there is one thing that everyone can agree on. John Calipari is a stud thoroughbred and deserves every rose on the garland of the Derby winner.
