It was announced on Monday morning that Kentucky Basketball freshman forward, Bam Adebayo has hired an agent, ending his collegiate playing career.

Bam Adebayo became a force down low for the Kentucky Basketball team down the stretch. Adebayo rebounded with confidence and scored willingly on most opponents. Now, the North Carolina native is officially headed to the NBA.

When Bam originally declared to enter the NBA Draft, the thought was that he may return for a sophomore season. That thought is forever invalid now as he has signed with Octagon’s Alex Saratkis per Brian Hamilton. According to Hamilton, Saratkis is also the same agent that represents Giannis Antetokounmpo. Signing an agent officially puts an end to Bam’s collegiate playing career.

The 6-foot-10 freshman has all the raw power and strength that NBA teams drool over. It doesn’t come as a surprise that he had impressed a handful of teams with his potential alone. Bam averaged nearly a double double with 13 points and eight rebounds per game in Kentucky’s run to the Elite Eight.

Opening the Door for Bamba?

Some might believe that with Bam remaining in the NBA Draft, the door is open for a commitment from Mohamed Bamba. The number two ranked prospect in the class is considering the Wildcats in his final college decision.

Bamba brings an unbelievably athletic and lengthy body to the table. Some have compard Bamba to the likes of Anthony Davis. All Kentucky fans can reminisce on what it feels like having an elite shot blocker on the team feels like. Bamba is 6-foot-11 and presents as a thin build with insane length and wingspan. Also, the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predicitons give Kentucky Basketball the nod at landing the big man at 58 percent.

Bam and Bamba would have played together at Kentucky had Bam stayed. That is of course if Bamba still would have been considering the Cats. Having both paint protectors guarding the lane would have been incredible, but now, Cats fans will have to wait for a decision on the prep star.

If Mohamed Bamba decides to bring his talents to Lexington, it would most certainly be a feat. Added front court depth is needed after the departures of Adebayo and Isaac Humphries. There is no other players with experience on the roster. Bamba, Nick Richards and a combination of Sacha Killeya-Jones and Wenyen Gabriel could be the rotation of big men next season.

Its not a sure thing that Bamba commits to the Wildcats. It wouldn’t be farfetched to say, after Bam’s decision, that Bamba’s recruitment is now the number one priority for John Calipari. Can Big Blue land the talented big man?
