Kentucky Football landed a prize egg on Easter Sunday.

Cadarius Gaskin, a wide Reciever out of Delray Beach, Florida committed to the Wildcats on Sunday afternoon. Gaskin is a three-star recruit by all major services. Mark Stoops and the rest of the Kentucky Football staff are still hard at work to build the 2018 class from the ground up.

After putting together one of the program’s best recruiting classes in his tenure, or the past decade for that matter, Stoops has been vigilant in his efforts to land big time talent. It is evident in his coaching hires that Mark Stoops is putting a lot of thought into his hires.

Gaskin’s lead recruiter happens to be second year offensive coordinator Eddie Gran and wide receivers coach, Lamar Thomas. The coaches have strong ties to the Florida area. Florida is a hot bed of prep talent. Also, Thomas, a former University of Miami Wide Reciever, knows the state very well and can work to lure top talent up north to Lexington.

What does Gaskins bring to the table?

Cadarius Gaskin isn’t the highly rated recruit all schools are flooding the inbox to get. This is a good thing for Kentucky. The Wildcat staff have done well in the last with getting steals that fly underneath the radar. For example, Benny Snell was a three-star running back with limited offers. Look how that turned out.

Additionally, Gaskin is a big receiver at 6-foot-4. As a large target in the SEC, Gaskin has the opportunity to flourish. At 205 pounds, Gaskin will only get stronger through a collegiate conditioning program and put himself in the position to become successful.

The Rest of The 2018 Class

The addition of Gaskin begins this class with two wide receivers so far. Along with Gaskins here’s the 2018 class as of today:

  • Brenden Bates, TE -Cincinnati, OH
  • Alex Reigelsperger, ATH -Dayton, OH
  • Jarren Williams, QB-DT -Lawrenceville, GA
  • Marvin Alexander, WR -Hollywood, FL
  • Davoan Hawkins, DE -Hollywood, FL
