Kentucky Football: Ohio Defensive End Commits to Wildcats
Kentucky Football received their fourth commitment from the 2018 class today in Ohio Defensive End, Alex Reigelsperger.
Mark Stoops along with lead recruiter, Vince Marrow hit the Yahtzee! button as they received their fourth commitment of the 2018 recruiting class. The Cats received the pledge of Ohio Defensive End, Alex Reigelsperger. This is the fourth commitment of the class.
Reigelsperger is a 6-foot-5, 235 pound weak side defensive end from Wayne High School in Dayton Ohio. In addition, Wayne High School has been a great pipeline for the Wildcats in the Stoops era as Tobias “Cash” Gilliam, a defensive back, was pulled from the Dayton area to Lexington.
Alex Reigelsperger is a four-star Defensive End according to ESPN . Additionally, he has standing offers from 14 Power 5 Schools. The likes of West Virginia, Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa, Pittsburgh, Minnesota as well as Iowa State all have extended offers to the Dayton native.

Added Depth
Reigelsperger will add to the depth to the future defensive line. New defensive line coach, Derrick LeBlanc should be excited as the Cats add new pieces to the puzzle. A d-line in the SEC has to be big, physical and athletic. To keep up with the Joneses, so to speak, Kentucky has to keep recruiting highly toughed big men in the trenches to compete in the SEC. The Ohio native made his commitment as a guest on Kentucky Sports Radio with Matt Jones.
In addition to Reigelsperger, Kentucky has added great assets to the defensive line in the 2017 class. Five commitments in the Class of 2017 are defensive ends. The top defensive recruit for Vince Marrow came with the pledge of Joshua Paschal, a four-star player out of Maryland. Other recruits also include, Jordan Wright, Alex King, Abule Abadi, along with Christopher Whittaker. Finally adding depth to the pass rush is key for Kentucky as they look to build upon 2016’s Bowl run.
