Mark Stoops and the Kentucky football team has secured a pledge from DeLand, Florida running back JoJo Kemp, who was choosing between Kentucky, Pittsburgh and West Virginia, who were his final three teams. His highest recruiting grade was by ESPN, who gave him a 4-star rating as the 28th-best RB prospect.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound back rushed for just over 1,600 yards and 23 touchdowns this season, and was named First Team Class 8A All-State, earning him the #10-overall ranking on the Orlando Sentinel’s 2013 Central Florida Super 60:

"Kemp started since his freshman year at DeLand. He is a hard-nosed runner with good second-level speed , giving him a nice burst once he gets past the linebackers. Also catches the ball well. Selected to play in the Central Florida All-Star Game but did not play. Sentinel All-Central Florida 1st team."

Kemp made his live announcement tonight just moment after the Cats received a commitment from Florida 3-star receiver Jeff Badet.
