Kentucky is revamping the roster on both sides of the ball, and Will Stein has prioritized building the lines to compete in the SEC. Today, that got a little easier as they beat Ohio State to the signature of FCS EDGE Antonio O'Berry. The Gardner-Webb product had posted 52 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, 7 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles in 2025. At 6-foot-6, and 240-pounds O'Berry brings a lot of size and speed to the defensive line at Kentucky.

Will Stein wins second big recruitment in the portal era

Will Stein is currently not on campus in Lexington. He is back in Eugene getting the Ducks' offense ready to take on the Indiana Hoosiers in a rematch to decide who plays for the National Title. That has not stopped his staff from putting in work getting players to sign on the dotted line.

O'Berry had drawn interest from Ohio State, but Pete Nakos reports Kentucky was able to get his signature on his visit. That is a huge win for a team that had already lost Steven Soles Jr, who led the team in sacks, and Jerod Smith, to the portal. Getting a guy many see as a high upside EDGE was a priority this offseason.

His height is something that Kentucky will be able to utilize in a lot of ways, and it seems to be a focus for Stein and company. Among the defensive line recruits, almost all are taller than 6'3. That kind of height can be advantageous when you can not get to the quarterback; you just throw your hands up and knock it down. Kentucky's defensive line had just 2 pass deflections all season.

O'Berry becomes the second commitment of the Will Stein era, which is kind of ironic since Stein is known for offense, and both his first two commits are defensive. The first being Tavion Wallace, former Arkansas LB.
