The Kentucky Wildcats have drawn another 7:45 pm EST nightcap kickoff on the SEC Network against the Auburn Tigers, making it three such starts in a row. This game is often reserved for fun matchups but not great matchups. With Kentucky dropping a game to Vanderbilt and Auburn being towards the bottom of the barrel in the SEC, this felt inevitable.

The Kentucky football program took on Vanderbilt at 7:45 pm EST on SEC Network in their last game. The next game is against the Florida Gators at 7:45 pm EST on SEC Network, and now this one is at the same time. Are we noticing a theme? Kentucky has been regulated to this time slot by the SEC, it seems, which means another night game and late night at Kroger Field.

Who: Auburn University
Where: Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky (Home)
When: October 26 at 7:45 pm EST
TV: SEC Network

I mentioned it last week when the Florida game was announced that if Kentucky wants to get one of those prime matchups in the middle of the day, they need to start winning. That didn't happen as they played the Commodores in a game riddled with miscues and frustrating moments.

There is a good chance that they don't have the same fate or the same time slot in their yet-to-be-announced game on November 2 against the Tennessee Volunteers. As a rivalry game, it will naturally draw more eyeballs and the SEC and ESPN will want to put it in a slot that gives them more eyeballs.

Kentucky is looking to rebound this week against Florida, but they will have to do it on the road in the Swamp against a dynamic true freshman quarterback, DJ Lagway. This will be Lagway's first start, but in the limited reps, he has performed well this season.
