Usually after a 36-point win, Kentucky basketball fans are pretty happy with how a game went. That's not the case right now, as while the Wildcats took down North Carolina Central on Tuesday night, sloppy play was still displayed despite the 103-67 result.

Mark Pope dropped a truth bomb after Kentucky's blowout win

One of the main takeaways from that win had to be the rough play from Brandon Garrison in the first half. With around eight minutes left in the first half, Mark Pope decided he had seen enough, ripping into Garrison and sending him to the bench. As you'll be able to see in the clip below, Pope was not happy at all and a message was sent:

Mark Pope benching Brandon Garrison sent a message to Kentucky players

Have we seen Pope this mad before? With the inconsistent play of his team, it's easy to see why he has become so frustrated. On that sequence with Garrison, he turned the ball over and it led to an easy bucket on the other end. It just can't happen.

It's one thing to turn the ball over, but with Kentucky players not showing great effort far too many times this season, it's easy to see why Pope lost it a bit. After hitting the bench for the final eight minutes of the opening half, Garrison didn't see the court at all during the final 20 minutes of play.

With the game being a blowout, it could have been that Pope just wanted to give him a rest, but it's more likely that Garrison was benched because of his play instead. This is something plenty of Kentucky fans have been calling to happen for Otega Oweh too.

The fact of the matter here is that Kentucky isn't playing to its potential and silly mistakes are being showcased far too often. Garrison and Pope need to get on the same page as soon as possible. Otherwise, even more drama will continue to surround this team.
