If you haven't been paying attention to the New York Giants on Sundays, and who could blame you, (sorry Nick Rome), you are missing the rise of one of the most electric playmakers Kentucky has ever produced.
Wan’Dale Robinson has been quietly solid all year, but on Sunday against the Detroit Lions, he stopped being "quiet." He was loud and made sure everyone saw how good he could be.
In a game the Giants desperately needed trying to stop a 5 game skid, Robinson erupted for a career-high 9 catches for 156 yards and a touchdown. It wasn't just a good game; it was a "I am the WR1" statement. It is the second time he has broken his career high this year.
The flea-flicker dagger
The highlight of the day came early. With the Giants looking to spark the offense, they dialed up a flea-flicker. Jameis Winston dropped back and launched a deep ball that Robinson tracked perfectly, sprinting under it for a 39-yard touchdown.

That play showed everything that made him a legend in Lexington: the speed, the ball tracking, and the ability to make a big play when the lights are brightest. This is a Lions team with Super Bowl aspirations.
The safety valve becomes the star
With Jaxon Dart out, the Giants needed someone to step up for Winston. Robinson answered the bell. He was targeted 14 times, the most of any player on the field.
To put his 156 yards in perspective:
- He accounted for nearly 50% of the Giants' entire passing offense.
- He became just the third Giant in the last decade to hit the 150-yard mark.
The bottom line
Kentucky fans have known Wan'Dale was special since that Citrus Bowl win over Iowa. Now, the rest of the world is finding out.
The Giants may have lost in overtime, but they found their offensive identity: Get the ball to No. 17. It worked for Will Levis and it will work in the NFL too.
